MOON PROPERTY: CENTRAL BAY
Situated directly at the intersection of the Moon's prime meridian and the lunar equator, Sinus Medii ("Central Bay" in English) is perhaps the most aptly named of all the Moon's locations. Resting near the visible center of Luna at 0° latitude and 0° longitude, Medii is a region with a remarkable landscape.
Among the most explored of all lunar regions, Medii and its environs have hosted many visitors from Earth over the past four decades, including the unmanned American probes Surveyor 4 (1967) and Surveyor 6 (1968). At Alphonsus, just to the south, is the landing site of Ranger 9 (1965). A few hundred kilometers in virtually any direction you'll find the landing sites of the historic manned missions, including Apollo 11 (1969; at Tranquility), Apollo 12 (1969; near Insularum) and Apollo 14 (1971; in the Fra Mauro highlands).
